21 Nov Food and Care Coalition Gets a New Mower!

Recently Craig Smith and I took a quick trip to the Food and Care Coalition in Provo. The Food and Care Coalition assists homeless in Utah County. The facility is beautiful! They serve three prepared meals a day, but they also do so much more than that. They assist the homeless that want to become contributing members of society. They have a barbershop on site, showers, a laundry facility, and transitional apartments for 38 people. (12 women and 26 men). Dental care is a huge deal to those who are homeless. The Coalition has a full working dental office and has partnered with area dentists for services.

This facility does so much for the homeless in our area. However, they don’t just give handouts. Those that use the services are asked to serve in the community. They can trade service hours for the services they need.

The Food and Shelter Coalition is on four acres of land. Mark Martinez, the groundskeeper, had a push mower to handle all the lawn care for the facility. ForeverGreen provided a riding lawnmower… Mark couldn’t be more relieved! (see the photo)

We will be going on June 6th to weed the grounds and work in the community garden.
